The Widgit Symbol Set has been developed over the past 25 years and now contains more than 11,000 symbols. Widgit’s simply-drawn, colourful symbols each illustrate a single concept, in a clear and concise way, and cover a range of topics wide enough to make them suitable for symbol users of all ages and abilities.

Teaching a baby or child to sign in sign language is easier than you might think. With our Widgit Symbol sign and symbol Resources, all sign language signs are accompanied by a bright, colourful symbol depicting the meaning of the sign. This makes teaching sign language to children easier, as they can quickly learn the connection between the object, feeling or word depicted in the Widgit Symbol, with the sign language sign which matches that symbol.

We aim to make communicating with children who have additional needs a more accessible, achievable goal.
